Free & Open to All - No Registration Required 
Morning Activities Meet at Seaman & Isham - Afternoon Activities Meet at Inwood Hill Nature Center 

Morning Activities - Seaman & Isham Street (Canoe Club event meets at boathouse): 
  • Morning Stewardship @ Wildfire Site  10:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Join us to help maintain and restore one of our most cherished natural areas. *Rain or Shine
  • City Nature Challenge Bird Blitz with UPR 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Help us track and record the wonderful avian wildlife in our park. *Rain or Shine
  • Inwood Canoe Club Shoreline Cleanup 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Inwood Canoe Club and Friends of Inwood Hill Park are recruiting volunteers to clean up our beloved Hudson River shoreline. *Rain or Shine

Afternoon Activities -  Inwood Hill Nature Center:
  • Forest Ecology Walk with NYSDEC Forester Tim Wenskus  1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Explore the ecology and restoration history of Inwood Hill Park's Shorakapok Preserve with a focus on recent wildfires. *In the event of inclement weather, presentation will be held inside Nature Center. 
  • Family Bird Walk with the NYSDEC Education Team  1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Explore the natural beauty and birds of Inwood Hill with a guided walk. *In the event of inclement weather, activities will be held inside Nature Center. 
  • BioBus 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Join scientists from BioBus to use microscopes to explore what’s living in the soil, examine nature samples collected from the park, and learn how to identify local plants using the iNaturalist app.
  • People's Theatre Project Youth Performance  3:30 PM : Don't miss this inspiring performance by talented local youth, celebrating our community and environment at the Inwood Hill Nature Center. 

​Drop In Activities:
  • Exhibition Area at Seaman & Isham​ 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Meet other community based organizations having a positive impact on NYC natural areas, parks, and beyond. *Rain or Shine 
  • Inwood Hill Nature Center 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM (extended hours): Visit the Nature Center and the Urban Park Rangers for open hours to see live animals, learn from interactive displays, and take part in some special afternoon Earth Day Festival programming.
